MotoGP ™ is the the world's biggest motorcycling championship, with a season taking place at 18 Grands Prix held in 13 countries, four continents and a global television coverage. Ten nationalities of the most talented drivers in the world are measured in grill on the latest technology of 5 manufacturers; Aprilia, Ducati, Honda, Suzuki and Yamaha.

Organized by the International Motorcycling Federation (FIM) since 1949, MotoGP ™ gets it's 65th edition this year. This is currently the oldest engine world championship. Formerly named "500cc" the World Championship began a new era in 2002 when after modifying its rules allowed the participation of motorcycles with four-stroke engines and 990cc. In the 2007 season, MotoGP machines went from using 800cc engines and from 2012 engines again had a 1000cc maximum capacity. MotoGP ™ is managed since 1992 by Dorna Sports, the company that owns commercial rights, under the supervision of the FIM.

The MotoGP ™ has a rich past, with Grand Prix having being held in all parts of the world during the 66 previous editions. More than 2.4 million people passed through the circuits' gates to see the action live in 2012. Italy, Britain, Spain, USA and Australia are among the countries holding more victories and titles. To see it in detail, you can look at the results and statistics section.

In addition to the premier class, there are two categories that are part of the World Championship 'MotoGP ™'. Moto3 ™ (formerly 125cc) and Moto2 ™ (formerly 250cc) are celebrating their independent championships in each Grand Prix races, so that at the end of each season are crowned three new world champions.
